March Missions Madness

The months of March/April typically bring about college basketball's "March Madness".  BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) has come up with their own spin on this and we now have "March Missions Madness". KIDS ZONE is also partnering with "Speed the Light" which is sponsored by our Student Ministry.

We have a national and local mission that we're looking to raise support.  Globally, Elevation Fitness (a brand new ministry of LIVE DEAD INDIA), locally the SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY PREGNANCY SERVICES. We're hoping to raise $15,000 to help ELEVATION FITNESS nationally and $5,000 to help support SVPS locally.

Elevation Fitness (a ministry of Live Dead India) is looking to purchase a building and develop a community fitness center in one of the most unchurched regions of India. Their goal is to build relationships with the community during the day and then host church services in the evenings at this location. This ministry already has an outdoor socceer facility and indoor basketball facility. this new fitness facility would continue to increase etheir impact within the community and allow for samller intimate Bible studies.

Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Services is an evangelical life-affirming ministry that serves women, men and teens through sexual integrity education, unplanned pregnancy intervention and post-abortion restoration.

Buddy Barrel or Buddy Box

Buddy Barrel is the mascot for BGMC. When BGMC started in 1949, supplies were shipped by boat to the missionaries in barrels. Barrels were used because they could be sealed tight and made waterproof. This way the supplies would not get wet or ruined. As a result, Buddy Barrel was created. Small wooden barrels were designed for the children to save their coins in. These barrels have now changed to larger clear yellow plastic barrels. Kids and adults are encouraged to save their money in these barrels.  They also now have "Buddy Boxes" available.  No matter how you collect it, your coins and donations can help many people all over the world.  Simply deposit any money that you collect into our collection container in the foyer.  It will be there every week.

Kids Zone Recycling Program

KIDS ZONE also uses recycling to help support our missionaries. That’s why we have setup these cool ways of raising missions money.  We recycle aluminum cans all year round.  These cans may be placed in the large white collection trailer that is at the top of the church drive way.  KZ also recycles ink cartridges.  Used cartridges may be collected & dropped off  in the Fellowhip Building or sanctuary foyer collection boxes.  REMEMBER: We do this all year!
